Council Member Krishnan asks about the methods used by the Parks Department to increase the pool of applicants for full-time and seasonal positions, given the hiring limitations. Commissioner Donoghue outlines their recruitment strategies.

  • The department has an active and aggressive recruitment process.
  • Many seasonal workers return each year, providing continuity.
  • The department participates in job fairs, including those run by DCAS.
  • They use advertising and recruitment efforts across the city when possible.
