Good afternoon.
5:01:56
My name is Dana Eldon.
5:01:57
I'm the president of St.
5:01:59
Mary's Park Houses resident council.
5:02:01
I'm also an executive board member of residents to reserve public housing.
5:02:06
And I just wanna say that at the end of the day, there are quotes that are made about what is available through NYCHA, but there's much confusion for me and others as to why they could pay for repairs for a transition to be made.
5:02:25
However, they don't have money for section nine developments that are still in existence.
5:02:31
Section nine must be funded.
5:02:33
It must continue to be funded or there will be no more public housing in New York City.
5:02:41
I beg of you to consider the thousands of people who are in section nine housing who deserve the right to live as they are living and have their repairs and work done in their developments.
5:02:58
It has gone much too far.
5:03:01
This this bartering of developments has gone way beyond the scope of any of our thinking that they would abandon people by putting them in the section section eight position where their rights are not protected and with as you heard before me many are being subject to evictions.
5:03:24
This has to stop.
5:03:26
Someone has to have this conscious enough to say enough is enough.
5:03:32
NYCHA must be held accountable.
5:03:33
And why don't they sit here while we testify?
5:03:38
Why is it that they testify first and then they leave?
5:03:43
They give you their their their their their their BS, and then they go.
5:03:47
They should sit here and listen to the residents and the community organizers
5:04:01
Thank you so much.
5:04:02
Have a great and blessed day.
Lincoln Restler
5:03:52
who have something to say that is valid, that is important.
Gale A. Brewer
5:03:57
Thank you for your testimony.
5:03:58
The timer has ended.
