To reach the class size compliance, DOE announced that funding added in the executive plan would be used towards hiring 3,700 new teachers.

Is it the council understanding that a hundred and 50,000,000 added to the fiscal twenty twenty six and the 200,000,000 in the out years is an initial funding in hiring teachers for class size?
Emma Vadehra
1:21:07
Yes.
1:21:08
So as I mentioned earlier, that's initial city funding.
1:21:13
We expect We have additional state funding as we know, $241,000,000 that will be in C for E.
1:21:20
We do also expect there to be some additional funding needed on top of that for funding the 3,700 teachers for next year that we continue to work with O and beyond for the adopted budget.
1:21:29
So a bit over 400,000,000 total.

How many teachers have applied so far?
Emma Vadehra
1:21:36
I don't have the number of how many teachers have applied so far.
1:21:38
We can we can definitely look and get back to you.
1:21:41
As you know, we did intentionally announce this early to give more teachers time to apply since we're getting close to doubling the number of teachers we usually hire.
1:21:50
So we announced it early and we actually mass posted externally all of those teaching positions, not something we usually do to speed up the external hiring process as well last week, but we can come back to you in numbers.
1:22:02
And and we know they're ticking up already.
