Council Member Rita Joseph asks about the current mental health services available in the students' schools and what additional services they would like to see. A student responds, describing the current situation and expressing the need for more diverse social workers.

  • The student's school has two social workers and some substance abuse-related services
  • There is a need for more social workers, with emphasis on diversity
  • The current ratio of social workers to students (1:250) is inadequate for a school of 2,000 students
