Council Member Rita Joseph inquires about the New York City Childcare Navigator, asking how CBO childcare providers can sign up and how to ensure up-to-date data on open seats and capacity. Karen Alford from UFT provides information about the navigator's features.

  • The navigator shows which providers have vacancies
  • It is income-based and ready to launch
  • Alford acknowledges that there may be some initial hiccups as they continue to add information

As a CBO childcare provider, how do you sign up to join the website?
4:43:22
How do we ensure that there's up to date data open seats and capacity for the New York City Childcare Navigator?

I saw it, it was pretty cool.

It is, it is pretty cool and when you go into the Navigator, like I said, it's a one stop shop and as part of the website it shows you which providers have vacancies, so that is a portion of the program.

Does it also show you where seats are available and what type of payments?
Karen Alford

It is income based and so we are ready to launch.
4:43:56
We are sure as with any new launch there are going to be some hiccups and so we will keep adding information to it as we go along.
