And how many schools currently don't have any assistant principals?
Henry Rubio
4:45:24
We used to have 200.
4:45:26
Now we're down to about 50 schools in the city that that that do not have an assistant principal.
4:45:32
And, chair Joseph, I I have to say it is the and I opened with it because I have to be honest.
4:45:38
It is the one thing, and I'm literally getting goosebumps now, it is the one thing that I and my members are losing sleep over.
4:45:44
And if I may add, just two weeks ago, I was a principal of a high school right here in Manhattan.
4:45:51
I left there, I wanna say about 2,006.
4:45:54
School has seven floors.
4:45:56
I used to have eight eight agents, seven and one.
4:45:59
Seven and one supervisor.
4:46:01
That principal today, on a good day, has three.
4:46:05
A student was found with a gun there about two weeks ago.
4:46:08
What do you think is gonna happen to enrollment in that school?
4:46:11
That principal emails a superintendent, if not every day, at least once a week.
4:46:15
Not enough.
4:46:16
Not enough.
4:46:17
Not enough.
4:46:17
Not enough.
4:46:18
So it's the one issue that that between our safety agents and an AP, think it's a high priority for us.
Rita Joseph
4:46:25
So you do you know off the top of your head how many APs you need?
Henry Rubio
4:46:29
50.
4:46:30
50?
4:46:30
50 to cover those schools.
4:46:31
Yeah.
