Hello.
0:14:27
My name is Alexander Rosario, and I I am from PS two thirty five in the Janus Marine High School in East Flatbush in East Flatbush in New York in Brooklyn, New York.
0:14:42
And I'm here today to represent my school and our farmers market organization, Seeds in the Middle, and why we should eat more fresh fruits and vegetables.
0:14:53
We should eat more fresh fruits and vegetables because it helps us grow our body and mind.
0:14:58
It has nutrients that are good for our body, and nutrients help us get a stronger immune system.
0:15:03
So if you get hurt or catch an illness, our immune system will prevent and protect our body.
0:15:09
Examples of healthy foods are apples, oranges, bananas, lettuce, salad, and etcetera.
0:15:15
If we eat healthy foods, we will have a better life.
0:15:20
In District 18, there aren't many healthy stores in the area.
0:15:24
Most stores in District 18 don't offer healthy options.
0:15:28
But from our farm stand, we provide a variety of healthy food options like vegetables and fruits rather than junk food.
0:15:41
The reason why you should try and have access to to fruits and vegetables is because if you are far away and your neighborhood does not have access to to fresh healthy foods, it makes it harder and less fortunate to get to places with healthy foods.
0:15:56
If you are not eating fruit and vegetables or healthy food and you are eating too much junk food, your body can fill up with plaque or other toxins causing a heart causing heart failure or a heart attack.
0:16:07
Another detail is that if you are eating too much sugar and salt, you can get diabetes or high blood pressure.
0:16:13
But eating fruits and healthy options and not too much junk food, we can prevent those illnesses.
0:16:19
It should be equal to other neighborhoods and provide healthy foods to keep the people in the community healthy.
0:16:26
Fresh fresh nearby fruit foods can give the option to people to choose healthy foods and have access to them.
0:16:36
How we can expand and grow our business with a larger budget.
0:16:40
We can expand and grow our business with a larger budget because the extra money will help us expand our business and our menu.
0:16:48
We may get access to a larger area to farm and grow some of our products.
0:16:52
We also may get fruits and vegetables to sell and upgrade our supplies.
0:16:57
We can upgrade our stand and get a menu sign so our customers will have the opportunity to look at our products and prices.
0:17:05
We can have other options like a juicer to make fresh refreshing juice as another option for our customers.
0:17:13
Also, we can give discounts with a larger budget or have deals with more with more if if we have more money and a larger budget, and we and that will allow us to have more customers.
0:17:25
And all the money goes to the school for the program to get more fruits and vegetables, and we need money to expand the program, and it's for a good cause.
0:17:35
We can use the money to help district eighteen or if enough programs and organizations notice, maybe New York or Brooklyn.
0:17:44
We can also have the program more than once a week.
0:17:48
And and with the larger budget, we can maybe have the selling year round instead of once a week.
0:17:56
Tiers of supermarket and stores.
0:17:58
There are different tiers of supermarkets like tier one or tier s with good quality fruits and vegetables, but they might be more expensive and a little bit farther away from your community.
0:18:11
Tier two or tier or tier a, which is decent and okay fruits and vegetables.
0:18:17
Tier three, also known as tier b, which is less quality and maybe rotten fruits and vegetables, but cheap so it might convince you to buy it.
0:18:28
Tier four is tier c, which is bad, old, and almost completely rotten fruits and vegetables.
0:18:35
And tier five or tier or tier d, which is the worst tier of all, with completely rotten, not fresh, and dented fruits and vegetables.
0:18:44
But our farmers market can provide tier one, but with decent and fair prices, offering customers and even District 18 fresh fruits and vegetables.
0:18:54
And District 18 might start to spread with even better supermarkets and stores.
0:19:01
Conclusion.
0:19:02
In conclusion, our members of our farmers market, my school, and I hope that the speech was convincing enough to catch your attention, and we might get some money to keep this program going.
0:19:14
We wish to spread even more healthy foods around District 18 or our community to keep the community and the people healthy.
0:19:22
Well, was nice presenting my speech to you all and thank you for your undivided attention.
0:19:27
