Gale A. Brewer

Thank you very much.
2:43:27
Just in terms of that 30,000,000 that we still want.
2:43:30
I mean, if you have $23,000,000 cut to the groups, and they've all been calling me and calling you.
Justin Brannan
2:43:37
Mhmm.
Gale A. Brewer
2:43:37
You know, 65, 10 there, 65 it's a lot for these small groups.
2:43:41
Plus, the tourism is way down from being responsible for both.
2:43:46
So, I mean, how can you not say that we don't need I know there's a budget dance.
2:43:51
I've seen it before.
2:43:52
But I do think you should be advocating even though 45 based is terrific.
2:43:57
They're really hurting.
2:43:58
They're really hurting.
2:43:59
Plus, I know we're all working with mocks to improve the city flow of dollars, but that's slow because of all the mocks blah blah blah issues.
Lauri Cumbo
2:44:08
Right.
Gale A. Brewer
2:44:08
I think your groups are in trouble.
2:44:10
I'm I'm real trouble.
2:44:11
And so I'm just wondering what else besides the 45,000,000 and I understand the after school programs, but that 30,000,000 is really needed now.
2:44:20
Can you respond to that?
Lauri Cumbo
2:44:22
I would say, again, the continuous partnership with the city council has always been the way that we have achieves achieved sustainability for the arts and cultural community.
2:44:33
Without that partnership, we're not able to provide the level of support that is so critical and is so needed.
2:44:40
So as we've always done, we're certainly going to need the council support to match this historic victory for the arts and cultural community.
2:44:51
So we're going to be, again, looking at art and culture support from the city council.
2:44:57
But also, we're really excited about the arts and education funding that the mayor placed in the budget as well.
2:45:04
And that is going to be critical in terms of also providing artist support, teaching artist support within the budget.
