- Commissioner Cumbo expresses a desire for all council members to make their allocations immediately after the budget closes on June 30th to expedite the process.

Number two, we wrote you a letter about Casa.
2:45:23
We love Su Casa.
2:45:24
We appreciate your support.
2:45:25
But we need to have earlier Su Casa decision making Because what happens is it's so late.
2:45:31
I mean, the city council too needs to improve its decision making about SUCASA.
2:45:37
But, I wanted to know that that you would be part of an earlier process.
2:45:41
It's hard on Lower Manhattan CC and it's hard on the groups because they don't get their funding till too late and then they don't have much time to do their process.
2:45:49
So can you comment on how we can improve the SU CASA process?
Lance Polivy
2:45:55
Thanks so much council member Brewer.
2:45:57
I wanted to let you know that the Department of Cultural Affairs and Council Finance have already been in touch about how to improve all of the council initiatives and to make sure that our partnership is as successful as possible.
2:46:11
And it does really, in fact, take a partnership both with our agency stepping up to the plate and the council making the designations as early in the cycle as possible.
2:46:19
I think with this open line of communication between cultural affairs and council finance that we're gonna be able to get things in a really good place going forward.
Gale A. Brewer
2:46:29
Alright.
2:46:29
So Su Casa can be announced, like, in the summer and not until the fall.
2:46:33
Is that what you're trying to tell me in English?
Lance Polivy
2:46:36
I'm not committing to a particular schedule, but I'm saying that ongoing communication, dialogue, and partnership.
Gale A. Brewer
2:46:44
But we need to make it sooner.
2:46:45
I'm not good on the hyperbole.
Lauri Cumbo
2:46:47
Let me just say this, Councilmember Brewer, on that.
2:46:50
My dream of all dreams, and it was the dream when I was in the City Council, is the close of the budget, latest June 30.
Gale A. Brewer
2:46:59
Correct.
Lauri Cumbo
2:46:59
If all the city council members would I'm ready.
2:47:02
Would make their sue casa, casa, art as a catalyst for change, theaters of color, art immigration.
2:47:10
If you did it all at one time, you can't imagine how powerfully we would be able to get that money and out the door.
2:47:20
But when on the council side, the allocations or the designations come in October or they come in December
Gale A. Brewer
2:47:26
and they come to the Mine is ready, but I'll try to
Lauri Cumbo
2:47:29
I know yours is ready.
Gale A. Brewer
2:47:30
Mine is ready, but I'll try to make sure that my colleagues
Lauri Cumbo
2:47:33
If anybody could do it, it's you.
Gale A. Brewer
2:47:34
I will try.
2:47:36
Next is SIGs.
