Thank you, to the council, chair, and committee for allowing us to speak today.

As many, before have mentioned today and as you all have been, transparently discussing, the current federal and federal executive and legislative attacks on public health care, particularly on transgender care and transgender people, is of a dire issue of our time.

I, like many others before who have spoken, am a testament to the benefit and wealth and necessity of gender affirming care needed to be provided by any means necessary.

I speak today as someone who received gender affirming care funded in part by, New York City, at a federally qualified health center that depends on public funds.

And so I am here today to ask that the New York City expand maintain and expand, the $15,000,000, directed to gender affirming care, in New York City, as well as to increase the funding for the Trans Equity Initiative Fund, as well as the creation of shelters for trans youth, potentially for those who may be fleeing, to New York City because of nationwide anti trans oppression that is going on.

I again, I would like to thank the committee and council, for giving us the opportunity to speak and for fighting for the rights of all New Yorkers, making sure that we get the rightfully owed healthcare that we all are rightfully owed.
