Quickly, mental health in school based.
1:20:07
So it's so effective.
1:20:09
How much, how do I mean, sometimes the hospitals pay, sometimes you pay, sometimes there's no reimbursement, but it's still high quality.
1:20:16
What what's the status and funding wise?
1:20:19
And how are you approaching that issue?
1:20:21
It is so important.
1:20:22
Sometimes it's wrap.
1:20:23
Maybe that will handle it, which is not your funding.
1:20:26
But what are we doing about this?
1:20:28
And what's what's how much money are we putting into it?
Michelle Morse
1:20:31
We really believe in the school based mental health program model.
1:20:36
We have about 230 school based mental health clinics across three seventy five schools in the city.
1:20:43
We do think it's a very impactful model.
1:20:45
We hear that from principals, from students, from families, from mental health professionals.
1:20:50
There were 26 new Article 31 school based mental health clinics opened this school year, and there are seven that are pending.
1:21:00
So there is some expansion happening.
1:21:03
We actually just, we work in partnership and offer technical assistance and other kinds of activities to make sure that these clinics are both effective, efficient, and high quality.
1:21:14
But all of the operational costs for running the school based mental health clinics is in the DOE budget, NYC public schools budget.
Gale A. Brewer
1:21:20
Okay, and how do you work with them on metrics in terms of outcome?
1:21:24
Is that something that you look at with DOE or on your own?
Michelle Morse
1:21:27
Our office of school health, that offers the technical assistance to all the school based mental health clinics does work very closely with DOE to both, understand the outcomes and the data and also improve the quality, work with the actual, organizations that are contracted to run the clinics to improve quality.
Gale A. Brewer
1:21:46
Can you get back to us with any data from this person as to the outcomes?
Michelle Morse
1:21:50
We would be happy to do that and follow-up.
1:21:51
Yes.
1:21:52
Okay.
1:21:52
That'll
Gale A. Brewer
1:21:52
be Thank you very much.
1:21:53
Thank you.
