Alright, thank you city council for the opportunity to testify.
5:51:43
My name is Dante Bravo and I represent the People's Plan of New York City, a coalition of grassroots organizations, community members, and unions fighting for a city that provides dignity, care, and justice for all New Yorkers.

Our campaign puts, fights for a New York City that puts people first, and that means policies that put people, that keep people safe, fed, housed, educated, and able to live with dignity.
5:52:06
Every day, however, thousands of New Yorkers are denied that right to dignity because of our overwhelmed and under resourced mental health system.
5:52:13
The mayor's executive budget clocked in at over a hundred and $15,000,000,000 and it continues this trend by not including enough resources for mental health.
5:52:22
We urge this council to negotiate funding to expand mental health services to 55, an additional $55,100,000 in their negotiations for the mayor for a final adopted budget.
5:52:35
We support the progressive caucus' proposal to expand peer led crisis teams, fund mental health care and substance use care, and support frontline, responders.

Supports and additional funding for our mental health workforce in particular mean the difference between life or death for many of our community members.
5:53:01
We urge you all to fight for the Crisis to Care proposal, increase the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene's headcount, and prioritize our most vulnerable New Yorkers in your budget negotiations.
