you.
0:24:38
Back in the preliminary budget hearing, you were asked if the department had conducted an analysis of how many uniform positions could be safely performed by civilians.
0:24:47
I think you told us at the time that you'd have the numbers soon.
0:24:51
Do you have the results of that analysis?
0:24:53
What did it find?
Francis Torres

So we have worked with SCOC to do the staffing analysis for the uniform members.
0:25:06
When it comes to our civilian, we have civilian lines.
0:25:11
We have established a committee that continues to do that analysis.
0:25:16
We have in fact transitioned some uniform members already back into the jails to assume what we call significant PIC facing posts.
0:25:28
The committee continues to work.
0:25:31
The deputy commissioners or leaders to each of the divisions have until the end of this month, meaning until the end of this week, to basically do what they need in order for us to then look into closely how it is that we're able to remove uniform members.
0:25:52
But in removing uniform members we need to ensure that we have civilian lines that they can actually utilize to replace those uniformed members.
0:26:03
So it is ongoing, chair Brennan.
0:26:06
When we are in a better place, we'll be more than happy to share with you and the rest of the committee.
