Council Member Nantasha M. Williams explains her vote on a resolution addressing a decades-old groundwater problem in Jamaica. She emphasizes the historical context of the issue and expresses gratitude for the council's action.
- The problem dates back to the closure of Jamaica water supply wells about three decades ago.
- Previous city and state governments acknowledged responsibility but took no action.
- Williams thanks the speaker, colleagues, and Chair Gennaro for addressing this long-standing issue.

So again I just really want to thank the speaker and my colleagues, and chair Gennaro who I believe was a staffer at the time that this issue really became a problem for actually doing something and I don't think we get a lot of opportunities to make big impact and solve a three decade years old problem.

So I just want to thank everybody for their vote today, and I just also wanted to thank from the alleged division Sierra and Ricky and I proudly vote aye.
