The issue of the, ghost plates.
2:02:44
So you I wanna know how you are updating our resources dedicated to the program, and then is there any enforcement that you can see that's making a difference on ghost plates?
Jessica Tisch
2:02:54
We do a tremendous amount of enforcement on our ghost cars.
2:02:58
Cars.
2:02:58
I'm just gonna pull up the numbers.
Olufunmilola Obe
2:02:59
You know what page okay.
Gale A. Brewer
2:03:04
In some neighborhoods, there's a lot of ghost plates.
2:03:07
Yeah.
2:03:07
And there's some lady Okay.
2:03:09
Sell selling Virginia plates out of the back of her car too.
2:03:13
And you can order them from Amazon.
Jessica Tisch
2:03:16
Ghost plates year to date over 34 wait.
2:03:25
Oh, okay.
2:03:28
Year to date, over 11,000 b summonses, over a thousand seizures.
Gale A. Brewer
2:03:37
Okay.
2:03:38
Alright.
2:03:39
I mean, I assume that makes a difference.
2:03:40
Who knows?
2:03:41
I mean, there's many more, but it's a start.
2:03:43
Right?
Jessica Tisch
2:03:45
Point is we have real resources dedicated to enforcing the rules around ghost plates and license plates.
2:03:53
And we run operations all the time.
Gale A. Brewer
2:03:57
Another car about cars, I don't know what Craylo cars are, but I think they're the rental unmarked cars Yes.
2:04:02
That were being tracked.
2:04:03
So you're doing new tracking procedures, and I think they're expensive.
2:04:06
And so I was just wanting to get an update on that.
Jessica Tisch
2:04:08
So when I started at the department, one of the things that we looked at was how we were using and allocating a class of vehicle called Craylo vehicles, which are supposed to be they're unmarked cars and they're generally supposed to be used for investigative and undercover work.
2:04:29
And so we've done, based on that analysis, a reallocation of Craylo vehicles to make sure that they are being assigned to commands where they are doing undercover and investigative work.
Gale A. Brewer
2:04:45
So it's not a million dollars a month or something.
2:04:48
It's less now?
Jessica Tisch
2:04:49
Oh, the cost for Craylo?
Olufunmilola Obe
2:04:51
Yeah.
2:04:51
So it's it's it's not a million.
Kristine Ryan
2:04:52
We we are projecting about 9 to 10,000,000 this year in expenses.
2:04:58
So it it is a significant expenditure, and that's part of why we're looking at making sure these are used when and how they should be.
2:05:04
Okay.
Jessica Tisch
2:05:05
But they are a a meaningful and important part of our overall fleet.
Gale A. Brewer
2:05:10
Okay.
