Council Member Justin Brannan asks about the Independent Budget Office's (IBO) position on home healthcare employment and the impact of changes to the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP) management.

  • IBO anticipates some near-term growth in home healthcare employment, but at a slower pace than historically observed.
  • Long-term projections indicate less growth for home healthcare due to the CDPAP transition.

So I asked OMB earlier about the home healthcare employment and what the changes to CDPAP management will mean for the city's home healthcare job growth.
5:33:51
Does IBO have a position on that?
Sarita Subramanian
5:33:54
Yeah, so we do anticipate some near term growth to continue, although not quite at the pace that it has been historically.
5:34:03
But we do anticipate longer term less growth for home healthcare because of this CDPAP transition.
