- Intro 1126-A passed in February, requiring DSNY to provide or reimburse for official NYC waste bins
- Current bins cost around $50, with an estimated $36 million to provide bins citywide
- OMB to work with the council on determining the optimal level of funding needed for implementation

And lastly on the NYC bin reimbursement requirement.
2:51:11
So back in February we passed intro eleven twenty six a.
2:51:15
Requires DSNY to provide official NYC waste bins at no cost or reimburse eligible small property owners one to two family homes who have already purchased the bins.
2:51:25
Has ONB received any updated cost projections from DSNY for implementing this bill?
Jacques Jiha
2:51:34
The bin that we have currently are the cheapest, to be honest with you.
2:51:40
It's like $50.
2:51:43
And, you know, so again, we estimate it's probably $36,000,000 to provide the bins.
2:51:57
But again, from our perspective is we have some of the best quality paying right now at around $50.
2:52:08
From my perspective, it's a reasonable responsibility of city property owners to buy those things at the price that was basically negotiated by GSNY, which is a very good price.
Justin Brannan
2:52:21
So is OMB going to allocate funding to support the mandate?
Jacques Jiha
2:52:25
Again, we will work with the council, you know, to see if, you know, what can be done.
2:52:31
But, you know, what would be the optimum level of funding that's needed as part of back and forth with the council.
2:52:41
But again, you know, we intend to work with you and if resources are available, we will come back to you and make your recommendation.
