Commissioner Carl Weisbrod states that he is proud of the work the commission has done together to address the city's most critical issue: housing.

He was impressed not only by the large number of New Yorkers who testified but also by the high quality of their testimony.

He thanks the chair for ensuring the commission remained independent and praises the "brilliant staff" led by Executive Director Alec Schierenbeck.

Reminded of Moe Udall's very famous observation that, everything that had to be said has been said.
0:25:43
It's just that not everyone's had an opportunity to say it.
0:25:46
So, I will just add to what has been said, which is that I'm really proud of the work that we all did together.
0:25:58
And I think we have met the moment in terms of, the most critical issue facing the city of New York, which is housing, and it's been overwhelmingly the issue that New Yorkers have repeatedly mentioned as their number one priority for years now.
0:26:14
And this is a major step forward in in achieving that.
0:26:18
Second, I not only am impressed was impressed with the large number of New Yorkers who turned out, to speak before us, 800, plus, but the high level of their testimony.
0:26:33
I it was having sat through hundreds of public meetings and public hearings over the course of my career.
0:26:43
The quality of the testimony that we got was just about the highest that I've seen, and it's a real tribute to New Yorkers generally.
0:26:52
Third, I really do, thank you, mister chair, for your joint management of this as the chair and for your assurance that this was an independent commission.
0:27:05
And as and such, we could go about our work and and provide the best result that we could.
0:27:15
And finally, again, as everyone else has mentioned, to the brilliant staff led by Alec.
0:27:21
And I just wanna say that fortunately, for the city of New York, Alec is going on to become has gone on to become general counsel of the Department of City Planning, following in quite a distinguished set of footsteps.
0:27:38
But New York is blessed to have them, and, hopefully, we'll have them for many years to come.
0:27:42
So thank you very much.
