I know we all brought our professional expertise, but I wanna say to New Yorkers who have been doubled up, who have to call a family member because they cannot afford a new lease, who have to leave neighborhoods where they saw their friends and their parents age in place but cannot stay because it's too unaffordable, help is coming.

And I'm hoping that New Yorkers can look at these proposals as an avenue to really respect the dignity of New Yorkers who have given so much to the city.

I know that the other proposals that we considered throughout this process brought a lot of discussion.

And I think they warrant more discussion, open primaries being one of them, one of the many, that I think that we need to, as New Yorkers, dig in and figure out what our democracy should look like.
