Thank you.
1:21:18
This week, the Bushwick, Williamsburg, and larger community of District 34 were shocked by the tragic events that resulted in the loss of two lives in East Williamsburg.
1:21:27
I am heartbroken by these deaths, and our hearts are with the families and loved ones of Carl Clemente and John Kastic, and I just wanna thank speaker Adams for acknowledging them in her remarks.
1:21:37
These tragedy tragedies highlight the critical need for safety measures in our industrial areas.
1:21:41
The industrial business zone has seen a significant expansion of nightlife in recent years, but lacks the infrastructure investments necessary for safe growth, such as lighting, signage, connectivity, and public transportation.
1:21:54
Without these measures, the expansion of nightlife creates additional pressures on and challenges in industrial areas.
1:22:01
We must strike a balance of managed growth and public use to ensure the safety of all New Yorkers.
1:22:07
I'm also proud to introduce intro eleven forty four, know your rep, a bill that was derived from my longtime Bushwick And Ridgewood Organizer, Juan Mayansala.
1:22:17
The bill will require all building owners to provide information to their tenants about their elected representatives as well as DOB and HPD contacts.
1:22:25
This bill will help to create transparency and support tenants in advocating for their rights.
1:22:30
And finally, I just want to thank speaker Adams and her teams and council members Aviles, Krishnan, Dinowitz, Ariola, and Ressler for cosponsoring and attending the council's Colombian Independence Day celebration on July 20.
1:22:43
It was a great event.
1:22:44
As the council's first Colombian, it was a big honor to bring it here to City Hall, and we look forward to next year.
1:22:48
Thank you.
