As the CDC is a forty six year old nonprofit, our mission is to create equal opportunity for the people, businesses, and community of Southwest Brooklyn.

Firstly, we want to echo the public health and environmental concerns raised by others before us.

2 ships stopped, and running on diesel fuel, dump on Redhook, the equivalent amount of their pollution has 34,000 idling trucks.

Through demanding the use of SurePower by cruise operators, intra four calls for the necessary investments, so that SurePower Infrastructure which has been in place in 2016, can be effectively used.

Secondly, Redhook Redhook's Waterfront public assets have been neglected for case by the city.

Repeatedly, authorities have missed invaluable opportunity to invest in the waterfront with a long term with a long term vision that centers equity and sustainability over profit.

Throughout its peers, the Redhook container terminal the Redhook cruise terminal and beyond, many what different properties in Redhook can and should be leveraged to create local economic growth, allowing for cleaner transport mutation of goods and people.

As a community based organization with long ties in Redhook, we are a strong supporter of intra four because we want to see a deeper and impactful investment in Redhook's Waterfront assets.

We believe activating shore power is the right step in reducing the cruise industry's cargo footprint and for regulating the saturation and harm this industry creates for the community that leaves some work here.
