Micro purchasing contract vendors at NYCHA do not currently undergo a passport check but will undergo a vendor integrity check similar to passports for contracts over $250,000.

  • Vendors currently do not go through a passport check but will face a vendor integrity check similar to passports at a threshold of $250,000.
  • The new integrity check is in response to recommendations from the Department of Investigation (DOI).
  • Most top vendors for commodities and services already have a valid Vendor Name Check (VNC).
  • The process for micro purchase vendors includes VNC checks, reflecting the majority already comply.

And before I turn it back to chair banks, do vendors for micro purchasing contracts go through a passport check currently?

Our chief procurement officer will answer that question.

Thank you.

They do not go through a passport check.
1:44:15
At this point.
1:44:16
Through the DOI's recommendations, we will be making, we will be doing a vendor integrity check that will mirror much of the passports, certifications and representations.
1:44:29
At this point, Once a vendor reaches $250,000 is when we do do a full blown passport vendor check.
1:44:39
I will say that as we did the analysis for our commodities and our top 20 commodities and top 20 services vendors, most of those 20 out of 20 on the commodities and 18 to 20 on the services did have a valid VNC.
1:44:58
So many of our micro purchase vendors do have VNC checks.
