The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) confirms plans for a public transparency dashboard, including data analytics on spending and performance against requirements.

  • A public report will be added to the NYCHA website on a six-month cycle.
  • The report will include data analytics on spending, performance against record-keeping requirements, and progress on recommendations.
  • NYCHA already has transparency features on its website, including dashboards on outages.
  • Council Member Julie Won emphasizes the importance of a real-time, public-facing dashboard for residents and workers to track procurement processes and work orders.

And for your current system, Do you have any plans to have a public dashboard so that the public can also follow along for transparency and auditing and accountability purposes?
Lisa Bova Hiatt
1:42:40
Absolutely.
1:42:41
And I'm gonna turn it over to Brad Greenberg, who will talk about what we're going to do, which is one of the 14 recommendations that DOE provided to us?
Brad Greenberg
1:42:54
Yeah.
1:42:54
So one of the recommendations is I think that Commission spoke about earlier is there'll be a public report that will be added to our website on a 6 month calendar cycle that will include data analytics on spend and also our performance against record keeping requirements in the samples that we pull.
1:43:12
As well as our progress on the recommendations.
1:43:14
And this is modeled on things we've done in the past in other areas as well.
Lisa Bova Hiatt
1:43:18
And Brad, could you also talk about the transparent that we already have on our website that we've already had built out.
Brad Greenberg
1:43:25
We do have a lot of transparency on our website around multiple areas in the hot agreement as well as outages dashboards and and other items too that we're happy to always walk you through council member.
Julie Won
1:43:36
Okay.
1:43:37
Because the report is great, but if we could have a real time dashboard, then it's also public facing so that so that especially our nature residents, our attendant association, decision service case workers can look up cases in real time and really understand and follow along on the procurement process of where their current work order is or where the purchase is.
