Matthew Fraser and Edwin Pemberton announce MTX, IBC, and Mason as the principal vendors for asylum seeker support, detailing their specific roles.

  • MTX oversees the case management system hosting.
  • IBC is in charge of QA support and data services.
  • Mason handles the infrastructure site build-out, including underground cabling.
  • These vendors are selected based on prior experience with the city and undergo a vetting and bidding process.
  • The collaboration between these vendors and the Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI) ensures the successful delivery of the systems.

Can you share what the the vendors are that you're working with, but specific to the asylum?
Matthew Fraser
0:44:13
Sure.
0:44:13
For that, I I defer to the deputy commissioner from management budget.
Edwin Pemberton
0:44:19
So the the the vendors that we primarily use are MTX ABC, Mason, for technology, and
Matthew Fraser
0:44:35
I think hold on.
Alex Stein
0:44:37
So I think that's probably the top 3.
Matthew Fraser
0:44:39
So our our top 3 in terms of maintaining the host, the the case management system is MTX.
0:44:44
In addition to MTX, we have IBC, which is used for both QA support and data.
0:44:49
And Mason, which I just mentioned, is views for side build out infrastructure.
0:44:55
So when you think about running cable, they're local 3 electricians.
0:44:58
Yes.
0:44:58
They're local 3 electricians that go underground and actually run the cable for us.
Jennifer Gutiérrez
0:45:01
Oh, okay.
0:45:02
Okay.
0:45:02
Yeah.
0:45:03
And are these vendors that you'd been contracted that you've worked with before that OJ has worked with before?
Matthew Fraser
0:45:07
Yeah.
0:45:08
So many of the vendors that many of the vendors that are in place are vendors that set on city requirements contracts that have experienced doing programs of similar size and skill.
0:45:21
Okay.
Alex Stein
0:45:21
But you had I'm just
Jennifer Gutiérrez
0:45:22
there have been a vetting process because you've had existing vendor relationships is what I'm asking prior to the asylum.
Matthew Fraser
0:45:29
Right.
0:45:30
Right.
0:45:30
Right.
0:45:30
Right.
0:45:30
So there's a pre vet to get on the requirements contracts, and then depending on what the type of services, there's a bid to get someone in.
Jennifer Gutiérrez
0:45:37
Okay.
0:45:46
And MTX, I'm sorry, is the the vendor that does host?
Matthew Fraser
0:45:50
That that is correct.
0:45:51
They're one of.
Jennifer Gutiérrez
0:45:52
What oh, okay.
0:45:53
And then you said OTI does some of it as well.
Matthew Fraser
0:45:55
OTI does some of it.
0:45:56
It's a it's an initiative that's run between, like, vendors can operate in a vacuum, so we have city of resources that work in concert with them to deliver the systems.
Jennifer Gutiérrez
0:46:06
And the contracts are how long for for how long?
Matthew Fraser
0:46:10
So it depends on each scope of work.
0:46:14
When we started the program, we we did not know how long we would expect to be there.
0:46:19
So I think to get to that level of detail, we'd be glad to go through with counsel each contract and the date and the duration of the contract, the end date.
0:46:29
We can provide a detailed list shortly following this.
Jennifer Gutiérrez
0:46:32
Okay.
0:46:33
Great.
0:46:34
And on MTX, is this a vendor that you'd use in what capacity he had oh, the city had a relationship with them.
0:46:43
Do you know?
0:46:44
Or
Matthew Fraser
0:46:45
I'd say our relationship with MTX should be, like, any relationship that we have with the vendor.
0:46:49
They sit on a requirements contract.
0:46:51
Some of the notable work that they've done prior to this, includes work around our response to COVID, which is prior to the start of this administration.
0:47:00
Mhmm.
0:47:00
Okay.
0:47:01
They help build the recovery portal the recovery the vaccination portal and the COVID end.
0:47:06
Okay.
0:47:07
And then the a number of other things across the city, but that's the most notable Yeah.
0:47:12
Thing of size and skill.
Jennifer Gutiérrez
0:47:13
Yeah.
0:47:14
I have I have think of heard of them.
0:47:17
And is this particular contract with him?
0:47:19
This is is this do you know if this one's a year?
Matthew Fraser
0:47:21
I I I boom.
0:47:23
Do you It's a 1 year.
0:47:24
1 year.
0:47:25
1 year contract.
Jennifer Gutiérrez
0:47:26
Okay.
0:47:26
Okay.
