Tyrell Gibbs, a Red Hook resident, expresses support for the 150 Mill Street rezoning project. He argues that the development would bring positive changes to the neighborhood, which he feels is currently neglected and polluted.

  • Gibbs describes Red Hook as isolated and plagued by pollution from drug-related buildings, gas stations, and sanitation facilities.
  • He supports the proposed supermarket, stating it would benefit local residents and help address food access issues.
  • Gibbs emphasizes the potential for job training programs to benefit local youth and improve the community's future.

Good afternoon.
1:13:03
I just feel like others feel like ramp is secluded from every everywhere else.
1:13:10
And I feel like what's going on now is nothing but pollution.
1:13:17
We have nothing but drug addict buildings.
1:13:20
We have gas stations.
1:13:22
We have this sanitation and all this is doing nothing but pollution in the air.
1:13:26
So building this building and including this supermarket, which will help the residents that people do not care about, obviously.
1:13:37
And given job trainings and get these kids off the street, if these kids off the street and these kids are working in job trainings, that's that's doing nothing but helping the future and helping the residents of the area.
1:13:50
I feel like people don't even care about the residents of the area because I would say I will work means nothing.
1:13:58
And I feel like and other neighborhoods, IE Sunset Park And Park Slope, They're up and coming.
1:14:06
