Council Member Rita Joseph introduces Introduction 1057, a bill requiring annual reporting on student journalism programs in New York City high schools. The bill aims to ensure all high school students have access to student publications and receive journalism education.

Today, I'm proud to introduce my bill, intro 1057 along the side, my co prime sponsor's council member, Jose Hanif, Narcia's book, Powers, and Riley.

This Bill intro, 1057, which, among the administrative code of New York City, focus on student journalism program in our New York City high schools.

It requires the chance to submit an annual report to the mayor and the speaker of the city by August 31st each year.

This report all must also be posted on New York City Public School website detail the students' program.

Earlier this year with the support of my colleagues, I introduced in past resolution 372, calling a New York City Public School support the creation of student newspapers in every high school.

This bill is another step in ensuring that all high school students not only have access to student publications but also receive journalism education.

As I said in my interview with the New York Times, The introduction of this bill, I hope to create a work workforce of young journalists that can tell stories from their neighborhoods where they grew up resilient immigrant stories and all stories across the city.
