Council Member Pierina Ana Sanchez introduces the Housing Rescue and Resident Protection Act, a bill aimed at addressing the issue of distressed buildings in New York City while rectifying past harms caused by previous programs. We're talking about children's children families, elderly persons living with mold, the vermin lead, collapse ceilings, and the threat thereof, and mourn.

The the program that the city had to deal with this kind of condition, the 3rd party transfer program was disastrous in its previous administration, scarring to communities of color in its final round administered in 2019, the round 10.

So today, I'm proud to be introducing the Housing Rescue And Resident Protection Act, which conserves the power of the city to feasibly foreclose on buildings taking buildings away from the worst actors, but rectifying the harms of the past.
