Christie, a 20-year veteran of the hospitality industry, testifies about her experience working with hotel subcontractors and providing training to employees. She argues against the passing of the bill (presumably Intro 991-B) based on the opportunities subcontractors provide for worker development and entry into the industry.
- Christie highlights her role in providing various types of training, including safety, customer service, and HR
- She emphasizes the opportunity subcontractors give to inexperienced workers to enter the hospitality industry
- Christie appeals to the council to reconsider passing the bill, citing the positive impact of subcontractors on worker development

Good afternoon.
2:57:32
My name is Christie.
2:57:33
I've always dreamed of working in the hospitality and Street since I was a little girl.
2:57:39
I worked in the industry for 20 years, started at the front desk, worked my way to housekeeping, discovered my love and talent for training, specifically in the housekeeping department.
2:57:52
However, I always felt something was missing, and I was not using my skills to my full potential no matter the hotel I worked for.
2:58:01
My decision to move to work with subcontractors has helped me reach more people with my training skills.
2:58:10
I provide trainings such as safety, customer service, human resource, and standards training.
2:58:18
I complete all of these for every single one of our employees.
2:58:23
It's also very rewarding to be able to give people the opportunity to enter this industry.
2:58:29
These employees who are not currently giving the chance to work due to their lack of experience.
2:58:35
We are giving them that opportunity.
2:58:37
We are teaching them, training, and developing them into becoming great staff members.
2:58:43
I love and enjoy what I do thoroughly.
2:58:45
I would like to set an example for my 3 children.
2:58:49
That hard work pays off and you can reach your goals no matter where you came from.
2:58:54
Please take into account our point of view and reconsider the passing of this bill.
