Hi.
4:53:55
Is that is that is that okay?
4:53:59
Hi.
4:53:59
My name is my name is Lynn Glassner.
4:54:02
I'm an up Upper Westside resident.
4:54:05
I've been here most of my life.
4:54:07
And never have I ever seen anything like the what's going on now with bicycles.
4:54:13
One of the many bogus complaints of the bike lobby who opposed 606 is that the bill doesn't specify, and this is a quote, whether accessibility devices like motorized wheelchairs would be included.
4:54:28
That's from yesterday's Streets blog.
4:54:30
Have you ever seen a motorized wheelchair in a bike lane?
4:54:34
It's such an outrageous image that it would be funny if it weren't part of an argument that's supposed to be serious.
4:54:41
The lobbyist argument in defending minorities is a red herring.
4:54:46
It's a preempt preemptive claim that reminds people of police behaving badly, which is a police problem.
4:54:54
It's not a bike problem and not a problem that's going to deal with safety, which they are responsible for and doing and and doing safely in arrest and stopping within the context of law.
4:55:10
It's a presumption that they would target ebike riders While claiming to want to protect protect minorities from the big bad police tactics, they promote the stereotype that all Deliverieasters Deliveriesters are minorities or immigrants, and it's they who are causing the problem.
4:55:29
This is simply not true.
4:55:31
And as you as you've heard today, there are many of the people who were injured or and died even from bike riders who were were not on ebikes and not Deliveristas.
4:55:44
They were on city bikes or even their own bikes.
4:55:47
The fact is that it's very rare to see any biker stopped at a red light regardless of their color or ethnicity.
4:55:57
In reality, they're giving deliveries just a bad rap.
4:56:02
More importantly, what about pedestrian safety?
4:56:05
We are the majority.
4:56:08
The bikers are creating havoc on the streets and sidewalks is a known no
