Robert Holden
1:11:44
So thank you, commissioner.
1:11:47
If you want to add anything else, if you have ideas in the future, certainly, Curtis, we'd like to connect.
1:11:55
And, and again, if DVS gets a call with somebody who wants to go into filmmaking, even you can maybe even talk about acting too because you have some experience in that.
James Hendon
1:12:06
We're going to keep that in mind because we're as we get a better handle on the transitioning service members and making that context, so it's likely we will come across another Curtis.
1:12:14
And so we this is that's a very real thing we'll take you up on, Mr.
1:12:16
Sheridan, getting a handle
Robert Holden
1:12:17
on these folks.
1:12:18
Yes.
1:12:18
We work on so many good programs.
1:12:20
And, this is one I think doesn't cost a lot.
1:12:25
And if we could just steer people in the right direction, that would go a long way to help, certainly help our veteran community.
1:12:32
If I
James Hendon
1:12:32
make make the shameless plug once again for council funding, for all who are listening to this, it's nyc.gov/vetcouncilfunding for those looking to apply.
1:12:39
That deadline will be mid February.
1:12:41
So it's nyc.gov/vetcouncilfunding.
1:12:43
We can provide technical assistance as well.
1:12:45
And for those looking at joining a community board, it's nyc.gov/vetcommunityboard.
1:12:50
Nyc.gov/vetcommunityboard.
1:12:52
That's another thing where the application period is typically mid February to early March with the exception of Staten Island, which is rolling.
1:12:58
So thank you so much.
Robert Holden
1:13:00
And I want to plug my bill to, have a veterans committee on every community board.
1:13:06
That I hope gets through.
1:13:09
And, serving on a community board for 30 years, we did have a few veterans, especially from the Vietnam War period.
1:13:17
And they were very, very valuable for the community board.
1:13:23
And we're on several committees.
1:13:25
So if we had a veterans committee on every community board, I think that would also go a long way to self identify.
1:13:31
Right?
1:13:32
So thank you, Commissioner.
1:13:33
Thank you so much, Ellen.
1:13:34
Thank you so much, Curtis, for your testimony.
