The project team outlines various sustainability and resiliency features planned for the development, focusing on stormwater management and green building practices. They emphasize how these features will benefit both the building residents and the wider neighborhood.
- The building will comply with DEP's new combined stormwater permit regulations
- Plans include bioswales for tree pits and significant green open space
- The building will be fully electrified with no gas service
- Green roofs and solar-ready features are planned

with the R7A.
2:51:03
Yeah.
2:51:04
Moving on to environmental remediation, could you talk about what sustainability and resiliency features are included in the building's design and construction?
Nora Martins
2:51:16
Sure.
2:51:16
So the building would be, and Neli can jump in too.
2:51:20
The building will be designed, obviously, a new building in accordance with all current codes and regulations, one of which is DCP's new sorry, DEP's new combined stormwater, permit regulations, which require significantly, I think, 5 times more stormwater to be retained on-site.
2:51:39
So that is something that would be required to be complied with and would be a huge improvement to the current conditions at the site.
2:51:46
I would also look into doing bioswales for the tree pits in front of the property.
2:51:50
I mean, obviously there's a good amount of frontage.
2:51:52
So that would be significant.
2:51:56
And then the open space, just the amount of green open space, 21,000 plus square feet, restored to the block.
Shahana K. Hanif
2:52:08
So this is about the residents who are in the building.
2:52:12
They will be protected.
2:52:13
They won't have issues that, pertain to maybe flooding outside of their building.
Nora Martins
2:52:20
Oh, the residence of the new building?
UNKNOWN
2:52:21
Mhmm.
2:52:22
Do do you wanna take that?
Nelly Hennessy
2:52:25
This will be for the tenants, but it would also the neighborhood will also be, what's what's the word I'm looking for?
2:52:36
Benefit.
2:52:37
Benefit from this because there's the storm water, we're gonna use different methods.
2:52:44
Bioswales can also divert the water from the street, the runoff from the street into this bioswale, so they will contain and seep into the ground as to flood the neighborhood.
2:52:56
So that's one of them.
2:52:58
We're also gonna probably do, not probably, the green roofs Yep.
2:53:03
And solar ready because that's the new thing.
Andrew Esposito
2:53:07
And the building will be fully electrified, no gas service, all utilities electric.
Shahana K. Hanif
2:53:14
So, essentially, despite the already existing, storms that turn into massive floods, this building would contrib would not contribute to that flooding.
2:53:29
To increase
UNKNOWN
2:53:29
To increase.
