In terms of in terms of what is Moya doing to respond to noncitizens being detained at ICE check ins?
1:41:58
Has there been any education, any advocacy to help noncitizens and their families?
Manuel Castro
1:42:04
Yeah.
1:42:05
This is a particular concern, of course, to us as I've stated.
1:42:11
We have published pamphlet for those whose loved ones have been impacted by this to know exactly what their options may be, including calling our hotline to get a brief consultation and connections to one of our legal service providers.
1:42:35
And again, this is a very difficult situation that people could find themselves in and I know that there's heightened anxiety for people who are to check-in with ICE may be at risk of being detained.
Alexa Avilés
1:42:51
I'm sorry, commissioner.
1:42:53
So the guidance that you're providing families is to call the hotline and the Know Your Rights pamphlet that you've created.
1:43:01
That's the totality of the response to this issue.
Manuel Castro
1:43:04
Well, we also find the Rapid Response Legal Collaborative, which deputy commissioner programs can can speak to.
1:43:13
This collaborative has done important work over the last several years to help people and families who find themselves in this situation, and it goes above and beyond legal support.
1:43:25
There's a number of steps that are taken to support families and and and individuals in these situations.
Alexa Avilés
1:43:31
Can can you describe for us Moya's oh, I'm so sorry.
Jasniya Sanchez
1:43:35
If I may add to what the commissioner has just shared, we have created not only Your Rights booklets, right, but we also have done a very large push with all of our agency partners to share this information, right, and share through through the channels as well.
1:43:57
We've also have began to you know, we have began to print all of these materials.
1:44:03
And actually, by tomorrow, the council council office should have received, some of our printed material.
1:44:11
Specifically, we have created a pump card with a with a QR code, that that leads to multiple landing pages in multiple languages to access three very key booklets that we have created, Know Your Rights, What To Do When Your Loved One Is Detained, as well as a pamphlet on sanctuary cities.
1:44:39
And the reason why we did this, right, because there's a lot of things changing very rapidly.
1:44:45
So we want to make sure that folks have the most up to date information.
1:44:48
And by having the QR code, right, it ensures that folks can always be connected to the website where we will ensure that the most up to date information is there.
1:44:58
I just wanted to add that in.
