Council Member Stevens inquires about ACS's contingency plans in case of federal funding cuts. Commissioner Dannhauser outlines their approach:
- Citywide contingency planning is necessary due to potential impacts on the entire city budget
- Focus on maintaining core functions to protect children and support families
- No specific adjustments made yet, but regular planning with OMB to prepare for potential cuts
- Emphasis on preserving essential services that directly support children and families

Yeah no that's important especially in this climate to make sure that we are going above and beyond to make people feel comfortable.
3:30:12
And thank you for answering the question that I did not ask yet, so appreciate it.
3:30:17
So I mean I know you're obviously, I was not saying it as it's going on, but have you guys started to develop a contingency plan because it's such a significant part of your budget.
3:30:29
So you have you guys started to think about a contingency plan of funding was to be ceased and with the and what programs simply if ceased would would the city be able to be back backfill it and will eligible requirements will we change the requirements for different programs?
3:30:47
Please provide any or all specifics around this.

So you know it's very important that this contingency planning be done citywide because anything that affects the city budget could affect the 900 we have in the city tax levy as an And so, you know, we're trying to look at what is our absolute core functions.
3:31:09
We want to make sure that we're maintaining what is needed to protect children, to keep them safe, to make sure that families have the supports that they need.
3:31:17
We have not made any particular adjustments.
3:31:21
We are trying to make sure, you know, it's consistent with our vision and direction.
3:31:26
We're trying to make sure that we get families to preventive services if they don't need protection, child protective services.
3:31:33
So we're looking across the board where we can find potential resources.
3:31:37
But I have to say most of ACS budget is quite essential and really directly supports children and families.
3:31:45
And so plan A is to try to maintain as much of this funding because it matters for children and families.
3:31:53
But we are planning with OMB on a regular basis to make sure we're up to date and we're clear on any cuts that may come down.
