Council Members Alexa Avilés and Althea V. Stevens engage in a Q&A session with representatives from the Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) regarding the agency's racial equity plan and program funding. The discussion covers the DYCD's efforts to address racial inequity and the status of their preliminary racial equity plan.
- DYCD confirms they will provide a copy of their preliminary racial equity plan once it's finalized with the mayor's office.
- Council members express interest in seeing metrics on how DYCD measures its impact on reducing racial inequity.
- The session concludes with acknowledgment of DYCD's early efforts in addressing racial equity and a request for the finalized report.

2:38:46
make Okay.
2:38:47
And in fact you may have asked this so forgive if this is a repeat.
2:38:51
Actually two things.
2:38:53
Wanted to put on the record that the, we know that the council's IOI record, the council's IOI initiative is 2,600,000.0, is managed by HRA.
2:39:07
And so the 14,100,000.0 DYCD IOI program is different, and I know you're gonna get back to me, but I just wanted to state that for the record.
2:39:16
The other quick question, which you may have answered, so forgive a repeat, but would DYCD be able to supply the council with a copy of their preliminary racial equity plan?
2:39:27
Did we talk about this?
Althea V. Stevens
2:39:29
We did not and it's surprising that she didn't even ask that.
Keith Howard
2:39:39
She has to be sworn in.
Tricia Mullen
2:39:40
You don't like it.
Keith Howard
2:39:41
You wasn't?
2:39:42
Okay.
2:39:43
Thank
UNKNOWN
2:39:45
you for the question.
2:39:47
Yes.
2:39:48
We will be happy to provide a copy of the preliminary plan once it is released.
2:39:54
We've been working with the mayor's office of equity and racial justice to finalize the plan, which our agency plan and all agency plans will be integrated into the citywide plan.
Alexa Avilés
2:40:06
And would you be able to describe at all how the work of the agency works to reduce or perpetuate racial inequity?
UNKNOWN
2:40:18
That is the mission of DYCD.
2:40:20
That is the focus of all of our initiatives.
Alexa Avilés
2:40:23
I know a little ahead of other agencies and started that work in earnest like agency wide many years ago.
2:40:31
So I do recognize that, but we would definitely like to see the report and certainly how you are measuring kind of the metrics of that.
UNKNOWN
2:40:41
Absolutely, happy to share.
Alexa Avilés
2:40:44
I think I think that's it.
2:40:46
Thank you.
Althea V. Stevens
2:40:47
Well thank you and I'm sure Chair Williams will be happy that you asked that question and we do want to see the report and this is a citywide report because I believe at this point we are four sixty five days late with that, but that is not your fault because you said you did your part.
2:41:01
So thank you for doing your part, and thank you for showing up here today, and we're really happy, and I'm happy that you guys got through it.
2:41:08
People are smiling, and thank you, and we will take a short we will take a ten minute recess until we go back to ACS.
2:41:16
Thank you.
