  • Providers are requesting a base rate increase for SONYC programs from $3,200 to $4,150 in fiscal year 2026
  • DYCD states they cannot commit to the requested rate increase without OMB approval
  • Concerns are raised about unchanged bed rates for RHY programs in proposed contract extensions
  • DYCD advises providers experiencing issues with COLA adjustments to contact their help desk for follow-up

Yes, a two year extension.
0:49:50
So at minimum, if we're gonna say we're gonna have a two year extension, there is no way that we should not be talking about an increase, but we do need to talk about like even right sizing the program because again I'm sure when she has questions she's gonna ask y'all how does she get this done because she has programs busting out the seam in Southeast Queens.
0:50:08
And so it's even those things.
0:50:10
So I'm preparing you guys because I know it's gonna be her question, so get ready.
0:50:16
The current base rate for Sonic program is 3,200.
0:50:19
Providers are requesting a base increase to 4,150 in fiscal twenty twenty six.
0:50:26
Will DYC consider this rate?
0:50:28
If not, why?
Nevita Bailey
0:50:30
Sure.
0:50:30
Stevens, DYC does not have the funds and the budget to do that at this time.
0:50:33
That's a conversation that would have to be with OMB, so at this time we cannot commit to that rate.
Althea V. Stevens
0:50:39
Don't worry, I'm gonna add this, I'm gonna go extra on myself.
0:50:44
Okay RHY contract issue.
0:50:48
They have a similar issue too, same thing.
0:50:52
New York City RHY program providers recently received a two year proposed contract extension for fiscal twenty twenty six and twenty twenty seven with indications that the bed rate will be unchanged with rates ranging between 45 and 55 per bed and no change in cost of living adjustment.
0:51:10
Again, I'm confused about that.
0:51:12
I don't know why they said that they didn't get the COLA.
Nevita Bailey
0:51:16
So chair Stevens, my office sent an email out to all the providers and we did a number of follow-up emails and outreach to them.
0:51:22
If they are still having an issue, I would recommend that they reach out to our help desk and they'll follow-up.
Althea V. Stevens
0:51:26
Okay.
0:51:27
Because I I was myself was confused.
0:51:29
I didn't understand.
0:51:31
I didn't call y'all yet, so sorry Andrew, I forgot.
0:51:34
But they did say that and so you're saying to call the help desk because
Psycho
0:51:37
Make sure
Nevita Bailey
0:51:37
the help desk and we'll follow-up, we'll have
Althea V. Stevens
0:51:38
some Alright, see some of them out there.
0:51:40
Go to the help desk, call right now because somebody's at the help desk now.
