All based on funding.
1:53:55
Quick question for learning.
1:53:57
Is there as council member Ressler said, is there a correlation between schools who have librarians who don't have librarians?
1:54:03
What do those reading scores look like?
1:54:04
Do they tend to do better?
1:54:06
What what are we looking prioritizing in terms of academics and having librarians in schools?
1:54:12
I know my librarian, Ms.
1:54:14
Pratt, was everything to our school building in writing and reading and making the love of books.
1:54:20
And this is where you get your book talk from.
1:54:21
Right?
1:54:21
This is where you get all of your writing skills.
1:54:24
And teachers can't do everything as much as we wanted to, but in that library magic was happening.
1:54:30
And we got to continue to bring that magic across the city.

1:54:34
I think that Well I was just going to say I agree as a daughter of a librarian.
1:54:40
However, as we mentioned before with Councilmember Ressler, we don't have the exact numbers of the schools with librarians.
1:54:50
That's something that we can definitely work out.
1:54:51
And I agree with you it makes a strong argument for us to take a look at how the literacy rates are aligned with librarians and then also what happens when a librarian is added to a school building.
Rita Joseph
1:55:02
Yeah, that would be really amazing for our New York City kids because we want to get that data because as school leaders and school principals and a forever educator data drives our instruction, so I don't want to New York City public schools and that's something I complain about all the time, your data is never dating, never.
1:55:21
So we want to make sure you have data so we can better be partners, right?
1:55:25
So if you have data, can that's how funding come in place.
1:55:28
We'll know where to plug in the gaps.
1:55:30
If I don't know what you need, I can't fund you.
