Commissioner Vilda Vera Mayuga explains the evaluation methods used by DCWP to assess the effectiveness of their outreach efforts in response to Council Member Hanif's questions.

  • The agency sets targets for the number of presentations to be completed
  • They compare current performance with prior year numbers to assess progress
  • Social media metrics, such as follower counts and website clicks, are used to measure engagement
  • The agency uses these assessments to inform future strategies and make necessary adjustments

Got it.
1:25:23
And then how are you assessing how the agency is doing in terms of outreach?
1:25:33
Like is there a sort of do you guys have deliverables that you're like, we have to meet this objective?
Vilda Vera Mayuga
1:25:39
Yes.
1:25:40
Carlos' team is quite amazing.
1:25:42
I mean, they do have targets that they'll show with me to make sure that we're all aligned on how many presentations we're aiming to complete.
1:25:51
We look at prior year numbers and see how we can either surpass that or meet it or adjust depending on how successful we were or make any particular changes we might need to make.
1:26:01
In terms of social media we can certainly see followers.
1:26:05
If it's like on our website you can see how many clicks there are and things like that.
1:26:10
So we do track things in a way that we believe will be helpful for us to assess whether we were successful or not and how it informs what we do in the future.
