The APS referral process involves contacting the central intake unit, which assesses potential eligibility. If deemed presumptively eligible, an in-home assessment is conducted within a specified timeframe.
- Referrals can be made through 311, a dedicated phone line, or online
- Initial home visits occur within 24 hours for life-threatening situations or 3 business days otherwise
- Caseworkers assess various factors including health, living conditions, and potential risks during the initial visit
