Council Member Crystal Hudson inquires about current staff turnover rates and retention strategies in APS. John Rojas, Chief Special Services Officer, provides insights on staffing challenges and recent hiring efforts.
- Exact turnover data for caseworkers was not immediately available but will be provided later
- Many long-term employees have retired after 30+ years of service
- The pandemic led to significant staff losses
- Over 100 provisional staff were hired to replace retiring staff and those who left during the pandemic

We have a lot of staff with thirty plus years commitment to HRN that it's amazing and we're we're in awe of our staff and thankful to them.

We also during the pandemic lost a lot of staff to be quite honest.

A lot of staff felt it was time to go during the pandemic, so we had to replace a lot of staff both to the pandemic as well as retirement, leading us to hire the over hundred staff that we have hired provisionally.

But we can get the concrete numbers for you but I I would say, I would gather to say anecdotally that a lot of our retirements were retirement based.
