Council Member Brannan inquires about additional rules attached to the state's appropriation and ACS's primary federal funding sources. Commissioner Dannhauser provides brief explanations on both topics.
- ACS needs to have their prioritization plan and implementation plan approved by the state
- Primary federal funding sources for ACS include child care funding and foster care/protective services funding
- Foster care and protective services receive close to $500 million in federal dollars

I think I covered we do need to have our not only the plan that we submitted around prioritization approved, which happened as I mentioned last night, We also have to have an implementation plan on some of the technical ways in which we claim we don't anticipate any issues with that.

Everything goes under OCFS approval around this.

Okay, to federal funding.

What are ACS primary federal funding sources?
Jess Dannhauser

The two major ones, obviously childcare is a major federal funding source.

We don't have a perfectly clear lens into that because the state takes the federal dollars, mixes it with some other funding, and creates the allocations to counties, but the bulk of that money is federal dollars as we understand it.

Foster care and protective services combined also receives close to $500,000,000 in federal dollars.
