May 1, the administration released their executive financial plan for FY twenty six to twenty nine with a proposed FY '20 '6 budget of $115,100,000,000 DYCD proposed a FY '20 '6 budget of $1,300,000,000 which represents a little over 1% of the administration's total FY '20 '6 executive budget.
2:13:18
This is an increase of $77,800,000 or 6.3% from the $1,200,000,000 that was originally budgeted in the FY '26 preliminary plan earlier this year.
2:13:31
The increase mostly is the result of maintaining foundations for the city's youth, communities and families, after school for all, additional beds for young homeless adults, a fatherhood initiative, and baselining workforce programming.
2:13:46
As of March 2025, DYCD had 63 vacancies relative to their FY '25 budgeted headcount.
2:13:56
My questions today will focus mainly on an overview of the FY 'twenty '6 executive budget, obviously federal risks, vacancies, and headcount.
2:14:05
In light of the funding halts from the state, we look forward to understanding how the administration intends to respond and fill such gaps.
2:14:13
We have the resources to restore and invest in key services like child care this year while still protecting against risks and under budgeted costs.
2:14:23
And I look forward to hearing from DYCD on these topics.
2:14:26
I now wanna turn to my co chair for this hearing, council member Stevens, for her opening statement.
