Has there been any impact on ACS's federal funding since this administration took office?
0:30:02
Not to date.
0:30:04
And are there any contingency plans if there are more funding cuts?
Jess Dannhauser
0:30:10
You know, we've we've over the years have seen a variety of of slow reduction in federal dollars for foster care.
0:30:19
The Title IV E funding stream being the biggest one is tied to a 1996 income standard, And so there's been a reduction in 4E over the years.
0:30:33
The OMB has always been supportive of us, including in this fiscal year, to make sure that we have the resources.
0:30:40
We've been able to enhance rates for foster care.
0:30:43
We've been able to invest in young people.
0:30:46
We don't, it is typically federally a bipartisan agreement around 4E.
0:30:53
We don't see sort of a major threat there but we're watching it very closely.
0:30:58
But this is something that you know every day we're watching closely, we're sharing with OMB whether there's been any grant cuts, whether there's been anything that sort of we're seeing coming down the pike.
0:31:11
We're talking to other states constantly to assess what could be coming down the pike.
0:31:15
I think there are things that don't come through the ACS budget that really matter for children.
0:31:22
As an example Medicaid pays for the healthcare for children in foster care.
0:31:26
That is a direct funding from the state to our foster care agencies who operate clinics and mental health sites, etcetera.
0:31:38
So that's something we're also watching closely.
0:31:40
It could have a big impact on young people in foster care.
0:31:44
So we're constantly assessing.

Thank you chair.
