Thank you.

Afternoon.
5:38:49
I'm Gregory Brender from the Day Care Council of New York.
5:38:51
Thank you Chair Brannan, Chair Stephens both for the opportunity to testify and also for all the fighting you've been doing for early childhood education both in the ACS portion and in the Department of Education.
5:39:04
So I wanted to just also talk as Shanita did about the child care vouchers.
5:39:09
As you know we learned about this problem from ACS in February.
5:39:12
And both advocates, members of the city council, providers all sprung into action pushing Albany to make an investment which they have done with as you know strings attached.
5:39:23
And we want to ensure that the city makes the investments to ensure that both we families that are currently enrolled can continue to serve, but that more families as they come into the system are able to be served through childcare vouchers.
5:39:41
We know this requires at least an investment of $328,000,000 and would urge the city to at least match the state's investment of $350,000,000.
5:39:50
Thank you so much for the opportunity to testify.
