Commissioner Aggarwala addresses Council Member Marmorato's question about false complaints in the Citizens Air Complaint Program (CACP).
- The number of false complaints is reported to be very small.
- The majority of submitted complaints are valid and processed by the DEP.
- The DEP adapts its guidance based on rulings by administrative law judges to ensure a high likelihood of complaints being upheld.

Okay.

Now what is what are you doing with like, false complaints?
1:21:49
Like, is there is there a like, do you have a percentage of how many false complaints there are?
Rohit T. Aggarwala

It is a a very small number.
1:21:59
Right?
1:21:59
And and that's that's a wonderful part of this program, right?
1:22:03
The vast majority of the complaints that are submitted are good, the vast majority of them, DEP takes ownership of and submits, and therefore, we do a lot of the work rather than requiring the citizen complainant to do that work.

And so there have been some changes over the last 2 years in our guidance, but it's always driven by the fact that we feel that we can only put forward complaints that we think have a high likelihood of being upheld.
