I represent the bus association of New York as a board member and the administrative of the bus for NYC Corporation and a coalition.

Which was formed recently on behalf of private bus companies here in New York City who provide public transportation.

I'm here to point out that trucks and buses are different.

The New York State Motor Vehicles notwithstanding the fact the reality is Public and private buses both serve the same riding public.

This common good is for the benefit of people, passengers, and the public.

Respectfully, the effort and clarification that the commissioner mentioned before that this need for clarification in these bills.

Buses are separate.

55 cars generate significantly more emissions at a fifty five passenger bus.

The people on a bus are doing the right thing.

Well, his grandchildren, aunts, uncles, and many people in the room today write a bus periodically.

Whether it's local express, commuter, intercity tour travel, etcetera.

The MTA and the recent environmental assessment for the congestion pricing program recognized trucks, unfortunately, as being the major issue in dealing with what we're dealing with.

Buses are like being when they're idling, need to have people on board because they cannot regenerate, you know, the the air and turn on and off.

They need to stay on.

Just like you're in a plane at the gate.

And you're in a tube.

And if that air comes down hot, you're in trouble.

Speaking of regeneration, the reality is that many of the new buses, the air coming into the buses is dirtier than going out.

And California bus operators are asking government to get a tax credit for the benefit of cleaning the air.

Reality is that buses are not trucks unlike other vehicles such as refrigerated trucks, buses are often need to maintain power.
