- Plans to double the number of events in Staten Island to about 8 in 2024

- Overall, DCAS has held upwards of 90 events targeting Local Law 2 criteria in the current fiscal year

Thank you.

Local law too was passed part way through FY 23, which we understand meant that you weren't able to visit all boroughs as pre report, but specifically Staten Island.
0:37:00
And you know our colleagues here and the council have much reason to complain about Staten Island being the forgotten borough, but we're committed to changing that.
0:37:08
Okay?
0:37:09
We're committed to making sure that they're not forgotten.
0:37:11
So have have you held any events on Staten Island since the report?
0:37:15
And if not, then do you plan antu?
Kadian Outar
0:37:18
Yes.
0:37:18
And I I do wanna clarify that although we didn't report any events under local law too
Carmen De La Rosa
0:37:24
Mhmm.
Kadian Outar
0:37:25
Because of the definition of what's considered a civil service pathways, there are certain criteria that had to be met.
0:37:30
We did have events in Staten Island.
0:37:33
So we may have participated at a job there, or we may have held a career or an information session with a private institution.
0:37:40
So we did events in Staten Island.
0:37:43
We actually did 4 events in Staten Island in year 2023.
0:37:47
And in 2024, we're doubling that to about, I believe, 8.
0:37:52
And so we are focused on making sure that we are going to sign online and partner with the different organizations there.
Carmen De La Rosa

Great.
0:38:00
And I encourage you to also reach out to some of our Staten Island council members.
0:38:04
I'm sure they're happy to host you and have you there.
Kadian Outar
0:38:07
We are happy to work with with them.
Carmen De La Rosa
0:38:09
Great.
0:38:09
For FY 24, how many events have you held the meta requirements specified under local law 2 for the civil service ambassador program.
Kadian Outar
0:38:18
Thank you.
0:38:18
We're still compiling the data for that.
0:38:20
The report is due on the 20 in December, but I can say that so far we've seen upwards of 90 events that are targeting local law to criterias.
Carmen De La Rosa
0:38:31
Great.
0:38:31
Thank you so much for answering my question.
0:38:33
I'm gonna pass this to Chair Dinnowitz, and then I'll come back for more.
0:38:35
Thank you.
Eric Dinowitz
