Alex Weinberg, a resident living across from the affected site, expresses support for the Arrow Linden rezoning project. He argues that aesthetic concerns about building height are not valid reasons to oppose the development, emphasizing the need for more housing units in the neighborhood.

  • Weinberg dismisses concerns about the building's height, stating it could be any height without significantly affecting him.
  • He points out that the neighborhood is not a landmark site and has a history of development by speculators since 1890.
  • Weinberg criticizes the lengthy rezoning process and expresses a desire for the project to be completed quickly to provide more housing units.

Hello there.
4:40:24
I or we are calling in in support of the Arrow Linden rezoning.
4:40:29
I currently reside as a renter directly across the street from the affected site.
4:40:34
And I've heard a lot in these, in this meeting about the, threat that the the development proposes regarding, height that is mostly an aesthetic concern.
4:40:47
I personally believe that building, on a site of that size could be really any height.
4:40:55
11, 13, 15, 20 stories.
4:40:57
It doesn't really affect me very much.
4:40:59
It's mostly a, an aesthetic, concern.
4:41:04
The site and the neighborhood are not landmark.
4:41:07
There's no landmark preservation movement.
4:41:09
There has been no effort by any community groups to actually make this area a landmark, site.
4:41:15
So the, idea of preventing this on aesthetic grounds, I don't think is valid.
4:41:21
Arrowhead will make a significant profit on the site, which is how development works.
4:41:27
This entire neighborhood was developed by developers, speculators from the townhouses to the apartment buildings.
4:41:34
This has been a, a speculated neighborhood since 1890.
4:41:38
Also, I understand that Arrowhead has spent a significant amount of money on lobbyists, which I think is a shame.
4:41:45
They shouldn't have had to have done that.
4:41:46
They should've been able to finish this rezoning process in a weekend.
4:41:51
I don't think that the, think come on.
4:41:53
Give me a break.
4:41:54
I don't think that the, the long duration of this discussion and consideration is in the benefit of our neighborhood.
4:42:01
What I am concerned about is getting the most units possible as quickly as possible built and ready for us.
