Jack Robinson, a member of Brooklyn Community Board 8's Land Use Committee, expresses concerns about the Atlantic Avenue Mixed Use Plan (AAMUP), particularly regarding affordable housing and community input. He argues that the current plan does not adequately address community needs and suggests several modifications.
- Recommends increasing affordable housing units from 1,440 to 2,000 out of the total 4,600 residences
- Suggests modifying Mandatory Inclusionary Housing (MIH) to target 50% AMI instead of 80% AMI
- Emphasizes the need for more light industrial uses to create jobs
- Calls for greater clarity and commitment on using public spaces for housing
- States that community input has not been sufficiently incorporated into the plan

Hi.
1:59:33
My name is Jack Robinson.
1:59:34
I'm a CB eight land use committee.
1:59:38
So I really think out of the 4,600 total residences that will be built, fourteen forty is not enough.
1:59:48
It should be more like 2,000.
1:59:52
The 80% AMI is also not affordable.
1:59:58
I think to modify the MIH and to shoot for more like a 50% maximum AMI.
2:00:08
I think the incentive for more light sorry, we got lost here.
2:00:21
The light industrial uses adds more jobs than retail.
2:00:27
And I think that it should be a bigger priority.
2:00:33
I think more of the public space used as housing needs a little bit more clarity and commitment.
2:00:44
And I think really out of all of the public meetings that we had, I feel like we have not been heard and how AIM on the way AIM up is implemented.
2:00:54
And I would vote no on this until the points that Councilman Osei and Councilperson Hudson is, has been thought through and and implemented.

Thank you.
