Good afternoon, everyone.
1:57:19
My name is Sharon Weatherburn.
1:57:21
I am the chair of the housing advocacy and land use committee, and I have been a member of that committee for twenty plus years.
1:57:28
Additionally, I've called Crown Heights and Prospect Heights my only homes while I have been on this earth.
1:57:33
As such, I offer a unique perspective in terms of the changes that have occurred in our community, and I have been an active participant in the whole mCrown AIM Up process.
1:57:44
I have to express my profound disappointment that we are not being afforded the same opportunities as Gowanus, but that's an aside.
1:57:52
What we do prioritize as a board is, affordable housing.
1:57:56
What we've seen in the last twenty years, particularly in acceleration from 2013 on, is the displacement of a number of community members who, in essence, who have made Crown Heights and Prospect Heights a desirable place to live.
1:58:10
With that being said, our commitment to having deep affordability, we are requesting respectfully that, a m I h one and m I h two be removed from consideration with this product project and that we focus on those benefits that can be garnered for, m I h three.
1:58:30
Secondably, one of the things that we really considered was how are we going to be able to keep pace with the large number of high income earners that have come into our community and increasingly difficult for families to remain into the community because of the cost of rent.
1:58:45
And this is simply to be able to add an opportunity for those who do not have college educations to earn money from new technologies, including green jobs, but not limited to those green jobs.
1:58:56
As such, the industrial spaces and the industrial educational requirements are necessary for us to be able to go forward to this plan.
1:59:05
Last, Atlantic Avenue must be noted that is the primary East West commercial roadway which allows other for us to receive goods and services, our residents are able to access both JFK and LaGuardia Airport using go that particular
