Council Member Lee inquires about the process for submitting accessibility complaints on city websites, and MOPD representatives explain the current system in place.

  • Most city agencies have website accessibility statements that include information on how to report accessibility issues
  • Many agencies use the city's website accessibility feedback form
  • City-hosted websites typically have an accessibility symbol that leads to a citywide website accessibility statement
  • The process may vary slightly between agencies, but there are consistent methods for users to submit complaints

Definitely agree on that.
0:19:38
And if someone is on the website and wants to make a complaint, do they usually typically go through each city agency?
0:19:46
Does each agency on their own website have the ability which And then also is it moped or is it DOHMH ultimately that I just wanna clarify that that sort of is in charge of keeping those other city agency websites accountable and making sure that they upgrade or improve their websites?
Emily Sweet
0:20:12
Okay.
0:20:12
So that's a multi part question.
0:20:14
I'll try to answer each part.
0:20:16
So I think the first part was?
Linda Lee
0:20:19
Right.
0:20:19
So if I Yeah.
0:20:20
Okay.
0:20:21
On the website and have a complaint.
Emily Sweet
0:20:22
Yeah.
0:20:23
So every substantially all agencies should have a website accessibility statement, and I believe almost substantially all do.
0:20:33
So, they include, most of them include the website accessibility feedback form there.
0:20:40
There's also Office of Technology and Innovation.
0:20:47
If it's a city hosted website, there's also something that's just there as a matter of course, a little wheelchair symbol on the bottom of the page, that lead the accessibility symbol, and that leads also to the city accessibility, website accessibility, a citywide website accessibility statement.
0:21:03
So if it's a city hosted website, then it will have, it might be a little harder to find or easier to find depending on your opinion, but there is a little there is a way on on all city hosted websites to do that.
